Random as always … but for the two people who might actually read this here are a few of my thoughts. I finished reading my book called Uglies .(good book not as good as twilight though) and I have a million hours left in the day to do nothing! I remembered I have a preach my gospel in my desk drawer and I love that book I can pick it up and read for 5 seconds and have already learned something new! So here are some thoughts from the book today.
“If Prayer is only a spasmodic cry at the time of crisis, then it is utterly selfish, and we come to think of god as a repairman or a service agency to help us only in our emergencies. We should remember the most high day and night –always-not only at times when all other assistance has failed and we desperately need help.” –Howard W. Hunter

This had me thinking about my prayers ,It also brought back a memory I haven’t thought about for along time…When I was maybe 14 I was babysitting my two cousins at their house we were watching a movie and I heard water running so I went to see if the faucet was left on. I stepped into the kitchen with water running over my shoes! there was a huge spray coming from the dishwasher and I couldn’t turn it off I tried calling my dad all my brothers no one was home at this point I was crying and didn’t know what to do That little lesson from primary popped into my mind… Pray! So I knelt in the flooded kitchen and cried “Please help Heavenly father!” Got up and using my 14 year old wisdom I decided to sweep the water out the front door. (Yes I know I am Genius) I opened the front door and water flooded out (Still crying) I see a neighbor across the street with a tool box he stood there for a second then came running. He didn’t even say anything just ran past me, he ran up and down the stairs till he finally found how to turn the water off with his tools. He didn’t say much as he left either I spent the rest of the night mopping up. The quote fits perfect with this story in a literal sense that rarely had I ever prayed and when I did it was in time of a crisis and the repair man did come I don’t know why that man just happened to have a tool box or why he was standing in his drive way but I do know heavenly Father does answer prayers a lesson I will never forget. I remembered actually praying that night and thanking heavenly father for the speedy answer to my prayer.

PRAYER SCALE
-Rate your self in each area POOR- FAIR- OR GOOD

Week in Christ/strong in Christ
Not Thankful/Full of thanks
Mind not focused/focused
Repetitious/Focus on today’s needs
Self centered/Mindful of other people
General/Specific
The spirit is absent/Spirit guides your prayers
Do not recognize answers/Confident that god answers prayers

-Also I think everyone should use the word spasmodic more often.
